Pomeroy

Pomeroy

Pomeroy was a puppy mill dog who had spent his whole life (7 years) in a cage until he was lucky enough to be rescued by the Humane Education Society of TN in 2006.  When found, his teeth were so full tartar that he couldn’t close his mouth and he was urine soaked to the bone.

The HES sent Pomeroy to a Forever Home in Chantilly who listed his picture through the Northern VA SPCA on petfinders, where I spotted him. I was lucky enough to be able to adopt him within two weeks. Although he was very nervous his first day, within 24 hours he had bonded with me and had begun guarding ‘his’ home, barking whenever someone strange approached.

Now, he is so spoiled he doesn’t get out of bed in the morning without at least 5 minutes of belly rubs.  He struts around Old Town with such panache that it’s hard to tell who is showing off more – me showing off Pomeroy or Pommie showing off his Mom.  He has been featured in local and national newspapers for his hard campaign work on behalf of Virginia candidates and even has a wine blog with his “girlfriend” Munchkin, a ravishing Yorkie.  ~ Shari from Virginia
