Besame Mucho
“The fountains mingle with the river
And the rivers with the ocean,
The winds of Heaven mix forever
With a sweet emotion;
Nothing in the world is single;
All things by a law divine
In one spirit meet and mingle.
Why not I with thine? -
See the mountains kiss high Heaven
And the waves clasp one another;
No sister-flower would be forgiven
If it disdained its brother;
And the sunlight clasps the earth
And the moonbeams kiss the sea:
What is all this sweet work worth
If thou kiss not me?”
~ Percy Bysshe Shelley ~
I’m Still Here
Friend, please don’t mourn for me
I’m still here, though you don’t see.
I’m right by your side each night and day
and within your heart I long to stay.
Rugby
Rugby could elicit the heart of anyone with his “soulful whimper” and puppy-dog eyes. As a loved member of our family he traveled with us everywhere. He also had a definite “soft spot” for ice cream!
Jed
Jed was an unusually large Lab with a kind heart and a penchant for chasing and fetching tennis balls! He was always excited to see visitors and wagged his tail frequently, always showing his friendly demeanor.
Harley and Caesar
Harley (Shar Pei) and Caesar, both gentle and good-natured, were known and loved by all of the patrons at their favorite hair salon OMO in Old Town Alexandria. Ever the fun-loving character Harley loved to play tug-of-war with towels!
Bud
Bud will always be known for his affectionate nature and athletic prowess. He was able to jump over four feet into the air from a standing position and would always come running when called. His talkative personality only strengthened our special bond. He led a long and happy life.
Cleo
Cleo could smile brightly – and bring a smile to those around her! As with most dogs she could run like the wind, and loved to bolt when taken off her leash in a park. Gentle, quiet and calm to world around her, she was a loving part of our family.
Buster
Buster was with us for a short time, but his lovable and playful nature left a lasting impression. He loved to ride in the window well of the backseat of my car, much to the amazement of those driving by us. Strong, playful and ever friendly, he brought a smile to the faces of all he encountered.
